The Business Analyst will act as a key link between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into clear functional specifications, supporting development and testing, and ensuring smooth integration into production systems.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- 1–2 years of experience in Business Analysis or functional roles within capital markets;
- Must have experience working with Back Office systems and post-trade processes;
- Strong understanding of FX, Money Market, and cash products, including the end-to-end trade lifecycle;
- Functional knowledge of static data, workflows, confirmations, settlements, positions, and accounting;
- Must have experience with messaging and integrations, including SWIFT messages and interfacing systems;
- Knowledge of corporate actions, reconciliation processes, filters, and reporting frameworks;
- Exposure to regulatory reporting such as HRF, NORIA, and MMSR;
- Familiarity with requirements lifecycle management, including analysis, design, documentation, and validation;
- Must have hands-on experience acting as a liaison between onshore business teams and offshore technical teams;
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and requirements elicitation techniques.
Desirable Skill(s)
- Experience working with Calypso versions v14 to v17;
- Technical exposure to UNIX and SQL;
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes environments;
- Understanding of modern capital markets technologies, including APIs, cloud platforms, and automation tools.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders for FX and Money Market activities in Calypso;
- Work with the Product Owner to prioritise requirements and break them down into detailed user stories;
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, including user flows, data flows, and system behaviour;
- Act as a functional expert for development teams, ensuring clear understanding of business processes and expected outcomes;
- Collaborate with developers to ensure solutions align with functional and architectural requirements;
- Participate in solution analysis by evaluating existing internal or external systems where applicable;
- Contribute to functional testing, validation, and production support activities;
- Analyse the impact of functional changes on SLAs and OLAs;
- Support BDD activities by defining user scenarios and test cases;
- Assist with deployment activities, including functional pre-requisites and post-deployment checks;
- Support and train team members, including onboarding new joiners and resolving functional issues;
- Ensure smooth integration of applications within the existing IT ecosystem in collaboration with the Functional Architect;
- Produce and maintain documentation including specifications, workload estimates, test scenarios, and planning materials.
