We are seeking an experienced Windows L3 Run expert. A Windows L3 RUN Engineer responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of enterprise Windows and Cloud infrastructure. The role involves acting as the final escalation point for complex incidents, delivering advanced production support, and driving continuous service improvements across Windows OS, HyperV, Failover Clustering, VMware, and HPE hardware platforms. The engineer collaborates with architects and project teams, supports technology roadmaps, ensures production readiness for new solutions, leads rootcause analysis, and promotes automation using PowerShell/Python. Shift work and oncall rotation are expected, along with strong troubleshooting skills and experience in largescale, missioncritical environments.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience managing largescale Windows environments, including financial industry experience;
- Subject matter expertise in Windows Server OS (2012/2016/2019/2022) with strong troubleshooting capabilities;
- Expertlevel handson experience with HyperV virtualization;
- Strong expertise in VMware/ESXi environments;
- Expert handson experience with Microsoft Failover Clustering (5+ years);
- Expertlevel knowledge of Active Directory including groups, user access management, share and security permissions;
- Extensive handson experience with enterprise hardware such as HPE Synergy, HPE Simplivity, HPE DL/BL series, Cisco UCS, Dell VxRail;
- Strong problemsolving and performance troubleshooting across network, storage, OS, and applications (5+ years);
- Experience in server deployment, OS security patching, and patching tools (Altiris, BMC);
- Experience with vulnerability assessment and remediation using tools like Tenable/Nessus;
- Strong skills with enterprise monitoring tools (HP OMI, Tivoli, etc.);
- Scripting experience in PowerShell (mandatory), with additional skills in Python, Perl, or VBS as an advantage;
- Demonstrated ability to lead or support infrastructure projects and solution deployments (5+ years);
- Experience with BCP/DRP execution, including service failovers (5+ years);
- Strong ITIL-based operational experience in production support within banking/financial environments (8+ years);
- Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and customer service skills;
- Ability to work under pressure, support complex incidents, and operate in rotational shifts with oncall duties.
Desirable Skill(s)
- VMware technologies experience (vSphere, vCenter, vROPS, vRLI);
- Handson experience with hyperconverged platforms such as HPE Simplivity or Nutanix;
- Strong exposure to scripting using Python, Perl, or VBS in addition to PowerShell;
- Familiarity with workflow automation / orchestration tools;
- Experience with patching deployment tools such as Altiris or BMC;
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) for Windows workloads;
- Experience working with monitoring platforms and log analytics tools;
- Ability to automate operational tasks and build efficiency improvements;
- Experience supporting transformation initiatives or infrastructure modernization projects.
Responsibilities
- Act as the L3 escalation point for all Windows and Cloud infrastructure issues;
- Ensure stability, performance, and reliability across Windows OS, HyperV, clusters, VMware, and hardware platforms;
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical incidents spanning multiple technologies;
- Oversee daily RUN operations and ensure adherence to SLAs;
- Drive rootcause analysis for highseverity incidents and implement permanent fixes;
- Lead service improvements and standardization across Windows services;
- Review, document, and share technical knowledge within the team;
- Mentor and guide team members to uplift technical capability;
- Evaluate new technologies, provide technical direction, and support roadmap initiatives;
- Ensure production readiness for new platforms, upgrades, and infrastructure projects;
- Support automation initiatives and develop scripts to enhance operational efficiency;
- Review technical changes, assess risks, and ensure safe implementation;
- Coordinate with architects, service managers, and project teams on technical solutions;
- Handle client escalations, clarify requirements, and provide timely updates;
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and mandatory training;
- Participate in shift rotations and provide oncall support during weekdays and weekends;
- Support BCP/DR activities, including failovers and recovery tests;
- Assist in technical interviews and identification of skilled candidates;
- Continuously track technology trends and propose improvements to infrastructure operations.
