We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled L2 Production Support Engineer to join application support team and work on projects for a prestigious bank.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- Must have 3 years of experience in production support, infrastructure support, or development roles;
- Must have proficiency in Unix/Linux systems and shell scripting;
- Basic knowledge of MQ Series, CFT, EMC Networker, and Tivoli Storage Manager;
- Exposure to DevOps tools and principles;
- Basic understanding of Windows OS and scripting, including Active Directory;
- Familiarity with network fundamentals;
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and basic knowledge of databases with an ability to query, write commands, automate scripts;
- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
Desirable Skill(s)
- Experience working in banking or financial services environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day run activities ensuring compliance with SLAs and incident escalation protocols;
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for application issues;
- Handle L1 escalations such as incidents, requests, changes and coordinate with service managers and support teams;
- Drive continuous service improvement by identifying and automating repetitive tasks;
- Maintain and share team knowledge, ensure documentation is updated regularly;
- Participate in major operations such as disaster recovery tests, weekend activities, and release planning;
- Lead coordination for complex operations and post-deployment verifications;
- Rotate through 3 shift schedules to provide 24×7 application support coverage.
