The Data Security Expert is a senior technical role within the Data Security Services team, responsible for managing, administrating, and supporting Data Security and Endpoint Security technologies. The Expert serves as the technical point of contact for the Run team and is the last level of escalation for security specialists.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- 8–10 years of IT Security experience administering and managing enterprise Data Security and Endpoint Security technologies, especially Symantec DLP, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Data Classification, and related endpoint/data security solutions;
- Must have hands-on expertise in Symantec DLP components (Endpoint Protect, Web Prevent, Email Prevent, Enforce), including deployment, integration, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and DLP policy/rule creation;
- Strong skills in Email Security, MS Defender for Endpoint/Cloud, and deployment/troubleshooting of DAM solutions such as Imperva or Guardium;
- Experience defining, implementing, and enforcing enterprise-level endpoint and data security policies aligned with business requirements;
- Strong understanding of IT Security domains and risk-based decision-making in Production (RUN/Operations) environments;
- Experience managing endpoint and data security solutions in large enterprise environments; financial-sector experience preferred;
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, organisation, and time-management ability, with the capacity to prioritise in fast-moving operational environments;
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and proven capability working in process-driven environments;
- Professional certifications such as CISSP and Symantec Certified Expert (Administration of DLP) are highly preferred.
Desirable Skill(s)
- Experience with Database Access Monitoring tools;
- Strong Email Security expertise and Microsoft Defender Suite knowledge;
- Ability to develop others and support team capability growth;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Act as the last level of escalation and manage Incident, Problem, and Change processes;
- Assign technical tasks, manage delegation, and promote team collaboration and knowledge sharing;
- Support recruitment activities and contribute to team readiness;
- Manage incidents including fault investigation, alert escalations, and user ticket resolution;
- Serve as final technical approver for Data Security system changes and RUN/BAU activities;
- Participate in End-of-Life initiatives, new builds, migrations, and technical upgrades;
- Contribute to global infrastructure events such as power-downs and disaster recovery tests;
- Ensure compliance with internal norms, standards, processes, and procedures;
- Conduct data leak investigations using forensic tools and manage case closure and reporting;
- Maintain accurate and updated operational documentation;
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational efficiency;
- Deliver root cause analysis for high-severity issues and ensure corrective actions;
- Focus on automation and optimal use of team resources;
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge, mandatory training, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
