We are looking for a Calypso Back-Office Java Developer to join the Repo and Secured Financing (RSF) IT division within Capital Markets IT.
The role focuses on development, enhancement, and support of the Calypso back-office platform, supporting both project delivery and “run-the-bank” activities.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in Calypso development and support;
- Must have strong experience in Calypso Back-Office modules, including settlement, accounting, and reconciliation;
- Proficient in Java, with good working knowledge of PL/SQL and Linux;
- Must have experience with Calypso v13 or higher;
- Must have hands-on experience in customizing Calypso components such as services, workflows, reporting, messaging;
- Solid understanding of trade lifecycle for repos, bonds, and secured financing products;
- Experience interfacing Calypso with external systems;
- Experience working in AGILE environments;
- Familiarity with CI/CD and version control tools such as Git, Jenkins or equivalent;
- Willingness to provide L1/L2 application support in a production environment.
Desirable Skill(s)
- Experience in large-scale Calypso implementation projects;
- Exposure to big-data or event-driven architectures;
- Familiarity with modern DevOps practices;
- Strong interest in emerging technologies and continuous learning;
- Participation in technical communities or knowledge-sharing forums.
Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and enhance Calypso (v14.4 or higher) using Java, including internal components and extensions;
- Participate in Calypso implementation projects and functional enhancements;
- Provide L1/L2 application support for Calypso back-office systems in production;
- Analyse incidents, enhancement requests, and bug fixes, and deliver timely resolutions;
- Troubleshoot production issues to ensure system stability and continuity;
- Work closely with business users and IT teams to understand requirements and provide solutions;
- Support monthly release cycles covering analysis, development, testing, and deployment;
- Participate in release planning and production deployments;
- Ensure reliability, performance, and operational readiness of production systems;
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities;
- Mentor and support junior team members when required.
