We are seeking an Applications/Systems Programmer to join our Application Services team, playing a key role in driving DevOps adoption and continuous improvement across the bank’s global operations. This is a hands-on technical position combining BAU production support with automation, reliability engineering, and CI/CD initiatives.

The role involves working in rotational shifts and participating in on-call support, offering strong exposure to production systems and opportunities to enhance stability, performance, and operational efficiency.

Mandatory Skill(s)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, or Science (Computer Studies);
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in UNIX environments;
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell;
• Must have at least 2 years of hands-on experience with one or more DevOps tools and technologies including Ansible, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Docker, or Kubernetes;
• Must have practical experience with task schedulers, specifically Control-M;
• Must have strong understanding of IT ecosystems and application architecture concepts;
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts and participate in on-call support during non-business hours.

Desirable Skill(s)

• Experience in a banking or financial services environment with exposure to enterprise-scale systems;
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ITIL practices, and Agile/Lean methodologies;
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, collaborative approach, and enthusiasm for continuous learning and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary operational technical support and assist functional support teams;
• Manage technical issues, escalations, and ensure timely resolution and service delivery;
• Support and improve complex operational activities such as DR, migrations, and major maintenance;
• Enhance system reliability, performance, and quality through automation, monitoring, alerting, security, and RCA;
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines to reduce time-to-market;
• Maintain, improve, and standardize workflow processes and operational frameworks;
• Maintain and enhance programmable code as per technical specifications and OS standards;
• Act as a bridge between Development and Operations teams;
• Promote knowledge sharing through documentation, training, and best practices.
