Calypso Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced Calypso Back-Office Lead to manage end-to-end banking projects and oversee maintenance. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth operations by collaborating with business, infrastructure, and system teams.

Mandatory Skill(s)

  • Master’s degree in IT or Finance;
  • Must have experience with Calypso versions v14 to v17;
  • Must have expertise in Calypso core features (Static Data, Workflows, SWIFT messaging, Reporting, Reconciliation, etc.);
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments (Bonds, Securities) and the trade lifecycle;
  • Must have experience with regulatory reporting frameworks;
  • Proficient in Calypso integration and project deployment;
  • Familiar with Agile, SDLC, DevOps, and tools like Microsoft Office, ServiceNow, and Splunk;
  • Strong technical skills in Java, Linux/Unix, PL/SQL, and middleware (e.g., MQ Series);
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skill(s)

  • Foundational understanding of banking and finance;
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycles and financial instruments;
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets Front/Back Office systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee platform delivery and manage in-house solutions, ensuring smooth operations and support;
  • Handle enhancement requests for the business and new products, ensuring alignment with business goals;
  • Work with architects to design and implement solutions for business needs;
  • Lead project planning and documentation, including creating specs, estimates, plans, and test scenarios;
  • Manage monthly releases, ensuring milestones for analysis, coding, and testing are met, and support production roadmaps;
  • Define and manage release schedules for Calypso applications, ensuring smooth deployments;
  • Improve release processes, tools, and automation for better efficiency;
  • Collaborate with the build team to set up application monitoring and ensure system stability;
  • Monitor daily and monthly processes, addressing user requests and minimizing downtime;
  • Report on data quality, particularly during monthly runs, to ensure accuracy in risk data;
  • Provide Level 3 support to both business users and IT teams, handling incidents and requests;
  • Maintain a knowledge base and contribute to problem resolution, including providing non-functional requirements for monitoring.
