Application Programmer

We are seeking an experienced Application Analyst Programmer to work on IT projects in a reputed bank. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, a deep understanding of capital markets, and a proactive mindset in managing and enhancing application performance.

Mandatory Skill(s)

• Must have 6 years of experience in application support within financial or capital markets domains;
• Must have strong command of SQL, Unix/Linux, PowerShell scripting, and Python;
• Solid understanding of capital market instruments (e.g., Bonds, Rates, Equities) and the trade lifecycle;
• Must have experience with Regulatory Reporting standards such as MAS, HKMA, EMIR, JFSA, CFTC, MIFID;
• Knowledge of ITIL concepts; ITIL certification;
• Familiarity with market data platforms like Bloomberg and Reuters;
• Proficiency in tools and technologies such as Control-M, MQ, CFT, Kafka;
• Ability to handle SLA/KPI management, incident escalation, and client communication.

Desirable Skill(s)

• Exposure to cloud platforms and basic understanding of Kubernetes and Docker;
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases;
• Experience in predictive analysis, risk analysis, and consultative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain application monitoring in coordination with development teams;
• Oversee daily and monthly batch chains, ensuring timely resolution during peak processing windows;
• Generate and manage periodic reports on data quality and application performance;
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to business users including traders, risk managers, and operations teams;
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, service requests, and technical issues;
• Collaborate with development teams to assess issue priorities and implement long-term solutions;
• Contribute to defining and delivering performance and quality improvements;
• Write and maintain automation scripts to streamline support processes and tasks;
• Develop tools for data quality validation, monitoring, and operational efficiency;
• Work closely with infrastructure, project, and business teams to ensure alignment and support;
• Communicate proactively and document incident patterns, resolutions, and preventive measures.
