Big Data Java Developer – Capital Markets

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join the Capital Markets IT department of the bank. This high-impact role is part of a strategic initiative aimed at modernizing and centralizing the bank’s data infrastructure using Big Data technologies to support regulatory compliance and enable data-centric operations.

Mandatory Skill(s)

• Must have 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in Java;
• Solid understanding of recent Java features including lambdas, streams, and futures;
• Must have experience with Maven and Git;
• Must have the ability to write and maintain integration tests;
• Basic familiarity with Linux and bash scripting;
• Working knowledge of SQL or SQL-based dialects such as HQL;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Desirable Skill(s)

• Familiarity with Jenkins and Ansible;
• Exposure to HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, ReactJS, etc;
• Interest or experience in capital markets or financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines on Apache Spark;
• Work with large-scale data systems built on HDFS and related Big Data technologies;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and integrate data from disparate systems;
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of codebases;
• Participate in code reviews, integration testing, and deployment processes;
• Investigate issues, troubleshoot problems, and proactively communicate challenges to team leads;
• Contribute to documentation and ensure clean, well-structured, and maintainable code;
• Demonstrate autonomy in task execution and actively engage in team knowledge sharing.
